Everett CC opens new facility with win

The Everett Community College Trojans woman’s team opened the school’s new gym with a nail biting 52-48 win over Olympic College Jan. 8 in the facilities inagural game. Led by sophomore guard Mary Ochiltree’s (a Lake Stevens graduate) double-double 14 points, 12 rebounds, the trojans traded leads with the Olympic Rangers seven times during the game. Freshman forward Tessla Rennie, who scored the Trojan’s first points in the gym, and freshman forward Rachel Boehme (also from Lake Stevens) added with 12 points each. The win improved the trojans to 4-6 on the year while the Trojan men’s team won their first game of the season 79-64 in the second game of the night.
