There were no lopsided games between Jackson and Snohomish Girls Volleyball team as they battled it out for the district championship at Marysville-Pilchuck on Friday night. Snohomish won the first game by 3 followed by Jackson taking the next 3 games with no more then a 3 point lead in each game. Play was even between the teams and either team could have easily walked away with the trophy. Jackson takes the #1 berth and Snohomish the #2 berth to state.  Click on images for slide show.!

Lake Stevens defeated Marysville-Pilchuck 3 games straight earlier that night (25-16,25-19,25-18) to move into the third place  game bracket. Slide shows and videos from all teams will be up soon!

After a near perfect season of 14-1, the Panthers knocked off their first two opponents (Mariner 3-0, Marysville-Pilchuck 3-1) in the Nov. 2 4A District 1 tournament first round, only to lose in the Nov. 5 District Championship match to Jackson 3-1. Freshman Lanesha Reagan led the Panthers with 18 kills in the championship game, while senior Megan Rice had 11 kills and 20 digs during the tournament’s first round matches. While the Grizzlies took the first set 25-21, the Seagulls were able to win the second set 25-23. Glacier Peak rallied to take the final two sets 25-23 and 25-22 for the win. Sophomore Maddi Ober led the Grizzlies with 16 kills and three blocks while senior Emily Liger led Everett with 24 kills. The win puts the Grizzlies (1-0 league, 1-4 overall) into first place of Wesco 3A while the Seagulls fell to 3-2 (0-1 league) for the season.
